APPENDIX III Lambda Vectors

Abstract

In the list of λ vectors (which follows), the estimated positions of the targets for restriction enzymes are listed as base pairs from the left end of the mature DNA of the phage, although in some cases the values may only be reliable to within a few hundred base pairs. The data for many vectors are from Table 1 of Williams and Blattner (1980), those for newer vectors sometimes rely only on their genotypes together with the λ map circulated by F.R. Blattner in 1981. The name of each vector corresponds as closely as possible to that designated by its authors. The numbers indicated in parentheses are references that either describe the original vector or provide informative maps. A complete list of references follows the list.
